In Your Corner

The South Carolina Association of Health Underwriters is an association for the health insurance professional. Whether an agent, broker or consultant, SCAHU represents those individuals engaged in providing products and services that help finance the cost of health care for South Carolina consumers.

SCAHU works everyday to improve the health care and health care coverage industry for consumers. Through our legislative efforts, we have fought for the rights of consumers relative to costs and the ability to continue purchasing health care and the financing for it through the private sector. We have also worked to educate our membership so that SCAHU members are the most qualified and educated health insurance professionals in South Carolina. Also, we have worked to educate employers about our industry so that they can become better consumers of health care and health care coverage.

South Carolina chapters are located in Charleston, Columbia, Grand Strand/Pee Dee area and the Piedmont area.

SCAHU’s mission focuses on enabling members to be involved in the association on a national level. Scholarships will help more agents attend national conferences throughout the year. SCAHU plans to continue to educate agents on the benefits of being a member of SCAHU in their individual efforts to meet more people in the industry, to stay up-to-date on issues and regulations in the industry, and to increase their professional expertise.
