Operation Santa: Upstate SCAHU members will collect funds at the local meeting in Sept and Oct to purchase items for children involved in Operation Santa. A day will then be designated to wrap presents at the donation center. PAHU will provide christmas for two kids.
The mission of Operation Santa SC Inc. is to provide the basic necessities to Greenville County elementary school children who otherwise would not experience the joy of gifts during the holiday season. We will be working with 17 schools in the county.
In order to know how many elementary children we will be able to help we need to hear from you as soon as possible. Let us know how many children (age and sex if you have a preference) you would like to help. Beginning the end of October and early November we will send you the information (sizes, sex etc.) for the child you have committed to help.
You will be provided a check-off list of items for each child to attach to the outside of your child’s bag. They need specific things like clothes, socks, underwear, winter coat (if listed), shoes, etc. You will also give them a toy or two that they have requested and one educational item. Big tickets items will not be asked for. The focus is on their daily needs. Cost per child is usually around $125.00 – $150.00.
